Before Natalie Merchant was a solo songstress, she performed with the 10,000 Maniacs, propelling her to fame with their MTV Unplugged rendition of Patti Smith’s “Because The Night.” 17 years and five solo studio albums later, God only knows what happened to those Maniacs. But we do know that her October tour dates–where Natalie will be performing both new songs from recently released album Leave Your Sleep as well as some of her best known hits–she’ll be accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. Not a bad tradeoff, right? Tour begins in August, ticket info and dates after the jump.
